Carven Paris Mid-Century Brutalist Bracelet 1960s
Offered here is a Carven of Paris Mid-Century Modern Brutalist bracelet from the 1960s.
This substantial bracelet is comprised of chunky gold-plated links in an irregular textured vertical design, punctuated & counter-balanced by four glittering hearts set with amber & clear Swarovski crystals.
Marie-Louise Carven is an iconic French designer, whose early clients included such legendary figures as Edith Piaf and Leslie Caron: her jewelry was extremely limited, and thus exceptionally rare and desirable.
The design on this bracelet is sheer brilliance; the elemental Brutalist design is tempered and even contradicted by the sentimental hearts, soft and sparkling in the face of all that vertical aggression.
This is a singular and arresting piece of couture history. Condition is impeccable throughout.
Signed & numbered "Carven 423", marked "modele depose".
Length, 7.5"; width, 1"
